My main interest lies in the measurement of surface deformation associated with the accumulation and release of strain in the earthquake cycle. My aim is to help improve our understanding of the nature of continental faulting and assessment of seismic hazard. I use the satellite based geodetic technique of radar interferometry (InSAR) to make measurements of ground displacement which are then used to build up a model of the slip that occurred in the earthquake. My current focus is on earthquakes which have occurred across the Tibetan Plateau in addition to the recent devastating events in Haiti and Chile.
