  1. Shield Volcanoes: Broad, gently sloping volcanoes formed by the flow of low-viscosity basaltic lava. Example: Mauna Loa in Hawaii. 
  1. Stratovolcanoes (Composite Volcanoes): Steep, conical volcanoes with alternating layers of lava flows, volcanic ash, and pyroclastic materials. Example: Mount Fuji in Japan. 
  1. Cinder Cones: Small, steep-sided volcanoes formed by the accumulation of volcanic debris around a vent. Example: Paricutin in Mexico.
