Observations of Deformation
Volcano number: | 352030 |
---|---|
Region: | South America |
Country: | Ecuador |
Geodetic measurements? | Yes |
Deformation observation? | No |
Measurement method(s): | InSAR |
Duration of observation: | 2007-2011 |
Characteristics of deformation: | Preliminary ALOS results found Antisana had periods of both inflation and deflation between 2007 and 2008, coincident with a period of high LP seismic actiity (Mothes et al., 2008). However, a regional ALOS survey of Northern Andes Volcanoes found no deformation at Antisana between 2007 and 2011 looking at a larger dataset (Morales Rivera et al., 2016). The preliminary deformation observations are therefore likely to have been atmospheric noise. |
