Lamongan

Volcano number: 263320
Region: Indonesia
Country: Indonesia
Geodetic measurements? Yes
Deformation observation? Yes
Measurement method(s): InSAR
Duration of observation: 2007 to 2008
Inferred cause of deformation: Magmatic
Characteristics of deformation:

Philibosian and Simon (2011) and Chaussard and Amelung (2012) identified a deformation event at Lamongan volcano that is likely linked to a magmatic intrusion at several kilometres’ depth. Both authors identified a central line-of-sight change of ~12cm between September and December 2007. The subsequent acquisitions suggest that the area was stable following the magma intrusion event. However, Philibosian and Simon (2011) highlighted the deformation event is poorly constrained due to only having two prior acquisitions before the uplift.
