COMET processes data from European Space Agency (ESA) satellites to produce datasets, services and products that can be used by the wider scientific community. We use data from ESA satellites to provide useful information that helps countries prepare and respond to seismic and volcanic hazards.
COMET also provides advice and information to help develop new satellite missions. We have advising ESA on Sentinel-1’s acquisition strategy and helped to develop new EO missions, with COMET scientists selected for the Mission Advisory Group for Phase B2/C for Earth Explorer 10 mission Harmony, and Sentinel-1-NG.
In preparation for ESA’s Harmony satellite mission, we have also been demonstrating the potential use of the satellite’s expected capabilities and simulating data at the proposed resolution of Harmony’s equipment.
