Eruption phases

Eruption phases

25th April 2025
  • Pre-Eruption: Includes signs such as increased seismic activity, ground deformation, and gas emissions. Monitoring these signs can help predict eruptions.
  • Eruption: The active phase where magma and volcanic materials are expelled. The style and intensity depend on the magma’s composition and the volcanic system’s characteristics.
  • Post-Eruption: Involves the assessment of damage, monitoring for possible further eruptions, and the study of changes in the volcanic landscape.
