Alessandro Novellino is a scientist at the British Geological Survey with >12 years of experience in Earth Observation (EO) and geospatial data, leading research at the intersection of geospatial data science, artificial intelligence (AI), and environmental management.

His background is on the use of InSAR for mapping, monitoring and modelling landslides. Since he joined BGS, he has been working on developing advanced EO-based methodologies (e.g., AI-driven analysis, multi-hazard modelling, automatic processing of petabytes of satellite data) to enhance our understanding of natural hazards, assess their impact on society and forecast their evolution under climate change.
