COMET Postdoctoral Researcher: Volcanoes
University of Bristol

Areas of Expertise: Numerical and analogue modelling of magmatic storages

Associated Projects: MAST

Alexandra Morand is a research Associate at the University of Bristol, School of Earth Sciences. Her research focuses on the numerical and analogue modelling of magmatic storage. She is particularly interested in the effect of magma buoyancy, along with deformation and fractures produce by magma emplacement in the crust.

She completed a PhD in 2019 at the Paris Institute of Earth Physics (IPGP) in France. Then got a post-doctoral position in Poland at the Space Research Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences (CBK-PAN) before starting a new post-doctoral position in 2024 at the University of Bristol and becoming a COMET postdoctoral researcher.
