Areas of Expertise: Volcanic effects on the atmosphere 

Don Grainger is a Reader in Atmospheric Physics at the University of Oxford and leads the Earth Observation Data Group. His research focuses on atmospheric radiative transfer, aerosol and cloud microphysics, and the use of satellite remote sensing to study climate processes. After completing his PhD in Physics, Don developed expertise in Earth Observation through both academic and applied research. He has led projects on volcanic ash, climate impacts, and atmospheric particles, and collaborates widely with UK and international partners. At Oxford, he teaches undergraduate physics and supervises doctoral students in atmospheric science.
