COMET Research Staff: Ductile Tectonic Deformation
University of Leeds

Areas of Expertise: Continental Deformation; Satellite Geodesy; InSAR; Earthquakes; Geodynamics; Seismology; Active Tectonics.

Associated Projects: LiCS

Jin Fang completed his PhD in Earth Sciences at the University of Leeds in June 2024, under the supervision of Professors Tim Wright and Andy Hooper, and Drs John Elliott and Tim Craig. He also collaborated closely with Professor Greg Houseman. His PhD research focused on using satellite geodesy to explore the kinematics and dynamics of the India-Eurasia collision zone. After completing his PhD, he undertook a short-term role as an InSAR Scientist and Facility Developer on the LiCS project, where he contributed to generating InSAR velocity and strain rate measurements for the Alpine-Himalayan Belt. Currently, Jin is a COMET Research Fellow, collaborating with Professor Tim Wright on investigating ductile tectonic deformation through satellite geodesy.
