Joaquin Julve Lillo is a Research Associate at Cardiff University. His research integrates numerical modelling with geological and geophysical data to investigate earthquake dynamics at natural faults. In 2024, he became a COMET Postdoctoral Researcher, joining the ASPERITY project led by Dr. Ake Fagereng.

Joaquin obtained his PhD in 2024 from Universidad de Concepción, Chile. During his doctoral studies, he also conducted research at the GFZ Helmholtz Centre for Geosciences in Potsdam, Germany. He collaborates closely with researchers from Chile, France, Japan, and the United States, applying state-of-the-art numerical models to advance understanding of the seismic cycle at active faults.
