Margarita Segou is a Senior Researcher at the British Geological Survey in the Lyell Centre, Edinburgh. Her work is focused on advancing our scientific understanding behind complex earthquake physics and triggering mechanisms with the ultimate goal to improve earthquake predictability. She currently leads the development of physics-based mathematical forecast models using continuum mechanics as well as statistical ones for different settings of natural and induced seismicity around the world.
