Melanie Duncan’s main research interest is multi-hazards, specifically the characterisation and impact of multiple, interacting and cascading hazards in volcanic environments. Melanie’s work looks at local and global scales. She has a background in disaster risk reduction (DRR) and is an experienced interdisciplinary researcher, working with and across different disciplines and regularly apply social science methods. Melanie works within a number of collaborations at the UK, European and international scales. She has overseas fieldwork experience in Iceland, the Caribbean and Philippines.
