Tesfaye Tessema serves as a lecturer at the University of West London. He employs satellite Earth Observation data to examine volcanic deformation and monitor urban infrastructure. He previously held the position of associate member of COMET during his PhD studies from 2016 to 2021, and he resumed his membership in 2025. He is now a COMET Associate Member.

Tesfaye completed a PhD in 2021 at the University of Bristol. After completing his PhD, he went on to hold a post-doctoral position at the University of West London in 2023 before taking up a lectureship at the same institution in 2025. Tesfaye works closely with collaborators around the world, including Europe and Ethiopia.
