COMET Postdoctoral Researchers: Earthquakes and Tectonics
University of Cambridge

Areas of Expertise: High-temperature geochemistry and petrology

Associated Projects: Department profile (https://www.esc.cam.ac.uk/staff/dr-zachary-sudholz)

Zachary Sudholz is a postdoctoral research associate at the Department of Earth Sciences, the University of Cambridge and a bye fellow at Murray Edwards College. Before joining Cambridge, Zachary held a postdoctoral fellowship at the Research School of Earth Sciences, the Australian National University. Zachary was awarded his PhD in experimental petrology from the Australian National University in 2022.

Zachary’s research focuses on high-temperature geochemistry and petrology of Earth’s lithosphere. Zachary is particularly interested in understanding spatial and temporal variations in the composition, temperature and structure of the lithospheric mantle, and high-temperature processes within the lower crust of mountain belts. Zachary’s research uses experimental and microanalytical techniques, field work, and thermodynamic modelling
