Observations of Deformation
Volcano number: | 221122 |
---|---|
Region: | Africa and Red Sea |
Country: | Ethiopia-Djibouti |
Geodetic measurements? | Yes |
Deformation observation? | No |
Measurement method(s): | InSAR |
Duration of observation: | 2005 - 2010 |
Characteristics of deformation: | Pagli, et al. (2014), for the purposes of investigating regional velocity fields, has looked at Envisat InSAR data covering this volcano. They report no deformation associated with these north-west trending fissures or pyroclastic cones. The most recent confirmed eruption, which consisted of lava flows, was in 1928 or 1929 (Siebert and Simkin, 2002). |
