Observations of Deformation

Volcano number:263240
Region:
Country:Indonesia
Geodetic measurements?Yes
Deformation observation?No
Measurement method(s):InSAR
Duration of observation:2006 to 2011
Characteristics of deformation:

Saepuloh et al (2013) stated that Mt Merbabu, which is only 10 km north of Mt Merapi, has been inactive for centuries thus no deformation is expected and was used as an InSAR reference point to study ground deformation prior to the eruption of Mt Merapi.
