Ticsani

Observations of Deformation

Volcano number:354031
Region:
Country:Peru
Geodetic measurements?Yes
Deformation observation?Yes
Measurement method(s):InSAR
Duration of observation:2004-2006 (Envisat) 2007-2011 (ALOS)
Inferred cause(s) of deformation:Faulting/tectonics
Characteristics of deformation:

An earthquake swarm at Ticsani in 2005 was accompanied by joint uplift and subsidence that was well fit by linear slip of 0.4 m on a dipping fault plane at 4 km depth (Holtkamp et al. 2011).
No deformation was detected at Ticsani during a regional ALOS survey of Central Andes Volcanoes (Morales Rivera et al., 2016).
